What an advertorial agency actually does
An advertorial is a sales page dressed as an article. It reads like editorial content, with a headline, a story, evidence and a clear next step. For ecommerce brands it sits between the ad and the product page, and it has one job: move someone who has never heard of you to buy.
Most agencies treat the advertorial as a copywriting task. We treat it as the conversion engine of the funnel. That means research first, then the angle, then the copy, then design, tracking and a testing plan. When those parts come from one team, the page performs. When they are split across a freelancer, a designer and a media buyer, it usually doesn't.
Why ecommerce advertorials beat sending cold traffic to a product page
A product page is built for people who already want the product. Cold traffic doesn't. It needs to understand the problem, believe there is a better solution and trust that your product is it. A product page has no room for that. An advertorial does.
That is why the effect shows up in the numbers that matter. One of our clients, a beauty brand, grew monthly revenue from €1.2M to €3.5M with a single advertorial funnel at a 30% lower customer acquisition cost. A magnesium brand went from a 0.3 ROAS on product-page traffic to a stable 3.0+ after we built the advertorial around a research-backed mechanism.
- Lower CAC, because the page sells and the ad only has to earn the click
- Higher AOV, because convinced buyers choose bundles instead of the cheapest option
- Longer creative lifetime: our best advertorials run profitably for 12 months and more
- A moat: competitors can copy an ad in a day, a well-built advertorial takes them months
Advertorial copywriting: research first, words second
Good advertorial copywriting starts long before the first headline. We read reviews, forums, Reddit threads and competitor pages until we know the exact words your buyers use for their problem, what they have already tried and why it failed. From that we build the unique mechanism: the reason your product works when other solutions didn't.
Then comes the structure. Hook, story, proof, mechanism, offer. Every section has a job and gets cut if it doesn't do it. Claims are backed by studies, data and expert statements, never by tricks. That keeps the page persuasive and keeps it compliant with ad platform policies.
The advertorial landing page and the funnel around it
The page itself is only one part of the advertorial funnel. We plan the ad angles that feed it, the advertorial landing page, the bridge into your store and the offer. Depending on the product that can be a long-form article, a listicle or a presell page in front of a dedicated offer page.
We build every advertorial mobile-first, because that is where most cold traffic reads. Pages load fast, work on Shopify and common funnel builders, and come with tracking so your media buyer sees which angle and which section drive purchases.
What an advertorial costs
Pricing depends on four things: how deep the research has to go, how much your product needs explaining, whether you need copy only or the complete funnel with design, build and tracking, and how many angles we should test.
Cheap gets expensive fast. The advertorial is the bottleneck your whole ad budget flows through. If it converts half as well as it could, every customer costs twice as much, every month. That is why we talk about CAC and AOV instead of hourly rates, and why we scope every project on a call.
Who we work with
We work with established ecommerce and DTC brands, typically from $10M in annual revenue and $100k in monthly ad spend. Our sweet spot is products that need explaining: supplements, health, wellness, beauty, fitness and other problem-solvers with a real benefit.
We are not the right partner for resellers, dropshippers or commodity products without a difference worth explaining. And we don't write slogans, brand copy or newsletters. We write for cold paid traffic, and only for that.
